Post and Email…7/21/17…And more CorrupticuT

In yet another example of CorrupticuT, The Yankee Institute for Public Policy reports a state worker  with the Department of Developmental Services was placed on paid administrative leave for 69 weeks pending an investigation and collected $81,500 during that time.  That’s according to a report from state auditors.

The auditors noted this was a violation of state statute which limits paid leave to 15 days to investigate charges that could lead to dismissal. In some cases the paid leave of absence can be extended to 60 days if criminal charges are pending and permission is granted by the Commissioner of Administrative Services.

This is nothing new.  A past report by the auditors outlined numerous instances of paid leave in excess of $100,000, largely paid by the University of Connecticut.
