Just call 101.1 C-B-Shannon FM

Former WPLJ-FM Morning Man and the man who brought Z100 (WHTZ) to prominence in the 1980’s Scott “Super Shan” Shannon, next month according to industry reports will be replacing Dan Taylor on New York’s Classic Hits WCBS-FM 101.1 starting March 3rd from 6 to 10AM.

Radio industry news mag All Access was the first to uncover a page hidden on CBS-FM’s website revealing officially where the former Tampa Bay DJ at WRBQ ironically CBS-FM’s fellow Classic Hits outlet in SW Florida worked before heading to New York.

If there appears to be the one man out, it would have to be midday man Ron Parker, who once worked at Z100, which last year turned 30, and Z100’s website looked back at those years, though not the DJ’s.  Then again Clear Channel owns Z100 in addition to countless other stations.

CBS-FM Program Director Jim Ryan said “The station’s local weekday lineup continues with DAN TAYLOR in middays (10a-3p), BROADWAY BILL LEE from 3-7p, BROOKLYN’s own JOE CAUSI from 7p-12a and DAVE STEWART from 12-6a.”

The thing is, Shannon is no stranger to Oldies, running Cumulus Media’s The True Oldies Channel (heard in CTon WAXB [Formerly WREF 850 Ridgefield] as well as translatorW297AN at 107.3, which are owned by Berkshire Broadcasting along with Danbury heritage news/talk WLAD 800 and Hot AC/Top40 WDAQ 98.3 [98Q]).
