Wishing you a Merry Christmas

With cartoons

First from 1936 Grampy from Betty Boop looks to bring an orphanage Christmas cheer in the Color Classic, Christmas Comes But Once a Year, using a whole lot of Rotoscoping.

Three years earlier, Popeye wished us all “Seasin’s Greetinks (gotta love that Popeye-ese!)

In one of those old public domain cartoons from some cheap VHS collection a group of world children (led by Little Audrey for the US) visit Santa in 1948’s Santa’ Surprise.

And how about a REAL spirit of Christmas…Casper The Friendly Ghost in True Boo from 1952

Paramount’s answer to Tom and Jerry, Herman and Katnip do Christmas their way in 1950’s Mice Meeting You

Staying with the Mount, Betty Boop drops in on a small toy shop; the other toys come to life and crown her queen. But there’s a big rag doll of King Kong on the loose.  Can the beast be tamed?

I finish with a 1960 Popeye TV cartoon.  The Sea Hag sinks to a new low when she captures Santa.  Can spinach save Christmas in Spinach Greetings?

SIGN-OFF: Stan Brooks

Courtesy CBS New York

To his colleagues, he was Brooksie.  A child of the Bronx, legendary 1010 WINS news reporter Stan Brooks who reported on the goings on of City Hall to the riots at Attica, has passed on at age 86.  Brooks career with WINS dates back to when it was a top 40 radio station.  Fifty years ago next December,  the bosses at Westinghouse (WINS’ owners at the time) asked Brooks what he thought about changing the station format from Top 40 to all-news.  He missed World War II in 1945 being sent into post-war duties…playing the trombone in a swing band entertaining the troops in Hawaii.  After graduating from that media powerhouse school Syracuse, he would work for Newsday until 1962, when WINS came calling.

He arrived at WINS to do a two-minute top of the hour newscast alongside other NYC radio icons like Jack Lacey and the so-called fifth Beatle. Murray the K.  As to the switch in ’64, he answered, “All-news? What’s that?”  Well the that he referred to became the often imitated, never duplicated  All News. All The Time.  He would serve as the station’s first News Director.

Three years after the switch, he was named National Correspondent for Westinghouse Broadcasting, whose list of stations included WBZ Boston, KYW Philadelphia, KDKA Pittsburgh, WOWO Fort Wayne, IN and KFWB Los Angeles among many. Brooks covered the major stories of the past two or three generations: civil rights; Watts; Chappaquiddick; the Vietnam War protests; the ’68 Democratic National Convention in Chicago; Malcolm X’s funeral; TWA Flight 800; 9/11 and  others. He would return to reporting for WINS where he was their heart and soul.

Stan was quite the music fan who loved playing the trombone (he cited Tommy Dorsey as an idol, along with Yankee icons Lou Gehrig and Joe DiMaggio, as well as The Brooklyn Dodgers [boy try doing that with the Mets!].  And one of his favorite lines from rock came from Neil Young’s “My My, Hey Hey.” When it came to retirement, Brooks quoted the line “…Better to Burn Out Than to Fade Away.”

Brooks loved radio and tuned in to what can be considered the medium’s golden age, something that is a hobby of your not so humble correspondent.  He told Eve Berliner, former editor of The Silurian News he listened to the kids program Uncle Don (did he know about that infamous incident where he called the kids the other b word?) and the old radio serial shows.  But news was his calling reading the New York Post amid other papers, even writing for his school’s newspaper.

One of the first major stories Brooks covered the Attica prison riots of 1971. On September 9th that year about 1,000 of the jail’s 2,200 inmates rebelled and seized control, taking 42 staff hostage. During the next four days of negotiations, authorities agreed to 28 of the prisoners’ demands, but said no to their call for amnesty from criminal prosecution for the prison takeover or for the removal of Attica’s superintendent. By order of then-Governor Nelson Rockefeller, state police took back control of the prison. When the uprising was over, at least 43 people were dead, including ten correctional officers.  At WINS’ website they have an audio of Brooks in the eye of the storm choking on tear gas as he reports on state troopers and guards storming the prison yard.

The last story Brooks covered was in his beat…City Hall.  On this writer’s mom’s 75th birthday Brooks reported on the outgoing mayor Bloomberg, the incoming DeBlasio and the NYC budget.  Bloomberg had a trick up his sleeve for Stan.  Last week, Bloomberg re-named the radio reporter’s room in Stan’s honor.

Tough? yes.  He often got into verbal tussles with elected officials. He frustrated them, even lashing out at him (the sign I guess of doing your job in the otherwise cutthroat  world of the corporate media).  But he was no purveyor of so-called gotcha journalism (like at say MSNBC, just saying).

Growing up in the NYC tri-state area, I have had two all-news radio stations to listen to: WINS and then competitor now sister station WCBS 880.  And Stan Brooks was one of the many voices I have heard growing up listening to radio.  I still listen to both stations.  When one has a sporting event on (WCBS most of the time), the switch goes to WINS.

Speaking of voices, one of them, WCBS’ Rich Lamb called Brooks “one of the hardest working, most talented radio reporters I’ve ever known.”

“Stan Books, 1010 WINS News.”  That was his outcue said in an honest voice.  And that is this post’s outcue.

Roll Tide?

An update finally on Alabama’s role in the eligibility of Obama/Soetoro.  Writing for the blog Coach is Right, George Spelvin writes the state’s Supreme Court is still keeping things open on the eligibility of our so-called President.

A spokesperson for the state’s top court said the McInnish-Goode case against former Alabama Secretary of State Beth Chapman has not been dismissed. A court clerk told the blog last Thursday “I don’t know where they get” the information the case was tossed. This action coincidentally or not occurred the same day Constitution champion Attorney Larry Klayman won his blockbuster NSA spy scandal case against the Obama administration.  However, his other big case concerning the Obama Birth Certificate forgery and authentication was dismissed.

Attorney Klayman is plaintiffs’ counsel for Hugh McInnish and Virgil Goode, two Alabama Republican party officials who are challenging former Alabama Secretary of State Beth Chapman’s decision to allow Obama and other candidates to appear on that state’s 2012 presidential election ballots without first fully vetting them for eligibility. At stake, says investigator Mike Zullo, is “deception of voters and state election commissioners.”

This huge case was taken to appeal for oral argument in front of the AL Supreme Court after lower courts tossed its premise, a typical legal action taken across America by most other lower judiciary challenges to the Obama Birth Certificate issue. Carl Gallups, Freedom Friday’s radio talk host in northern Florida, has for weeks been pointing out there actually are THREE birth certificate filings on record in this case. “Now a third birth certificate has been submitted by AL Democrats. (1) The Obama, WH generated web birth certificate was shown by Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s forensic investigators to be document forgery. Obama supporters have submitted yet another BC for consideration.

Meanwhile, several major developments are causing tensions to rise. The first concerns the inexplicable death of the main Hawaii Department of Health official linked to issuance of the “real” Barack Obama BC, 65 year old Loretta Fuddy. Hers was the only death in a nine passenger plane crash last week that saw the pilot reportedly swim to shore to get help, after which, according to another Honolulu print outlet, he actually drove himself home. Attempts by CiR to re-verify this account were thwarted because print access became limited. Pilot Clyde Kawasaki was reported as saying, “All I know is ‘bang,’. . .OK, I’m in trouble now.”

It falls apart

For Soetoro and the globalists.  Speaking recently to Alex Jones was lawyer Larry Klayman fresh off his victory over the NSA and recovering from his Mockingbird hit by CNN.  Well Klayman has something to say to CNN.

After the misleading introduction, I naturally fired back at my antagonists, saying, “I think it is important to note that you’re a big supporter of Obama. … You have favored him in every respect. You have to try to do a hit piece to diminish a very important decision.” Don Lemon, while interjecting throughout the interview claiming that only he knows his political affiliation, shot his racist mouth off in October 2013: “I say the [Republican] party dominated by aging white Americans and some very vocal bigots, the Republican Party no longer represents the changing demographics in this country. … Republican Party, wake up before it is too late. … Stop drinking the hater-aid,” Lemon concluded. “It is leaving a bad taste in your mouths and the majority of America is recoiling from your bad breath.”

I am disappointed in CNN, which treated me with respect in the past. Don Lemon is a leftist hack. Not only has he attacked Republicans and conservatives, but he has also played the race card on a number of occasions. He and his ultra-leftist colleague, Jeffrey Toobin, who had the high class to impregnate the daughter of CBS’ Jeff Greenfield while he was married, should also not be throwing stones. And his fellow proponent, Blakeman, is clearly nothing more than a two-faced sell-out who aids the Islamists at Al Jazeera. Their lack of journalistic ethics should be rewarded by CNN with their firing, just as Martin Bashir was recently fired by MSNBC.

And in an attack by someone once belonging to one of Obama/Soetoro’s biggest backers, the Black Panthers, Larry Pinkney spoke to Carl Gallups on WEBY Radio saying our so called President is fraudulent and doesn’t know what the truth means.

Has a judge slipped up

The blog Conservative Angle is reporting one of the biggest Obot judges in matters of Obama’s records may have to answer for his supposedly phony Social Security Number…which has ties to Connecticut.

The infamous Dr. Orly Taitz posted at her blog,

Judge Ellen Lipton Hollander in a case of Obama using a stolen CT Social Security number of Harry Bounel rules without prejudice and gives me an opportunity to file a second amended complaint and add allegations of SSA not doing a proper search and withholding records . Thank God!!!
Devvy Kidd, one of Taitz’s supporters posted at her site

I looked up Judge Hollander; Ellen Lipton Hollander appointed to the federal bench in 2010 by none other than Barry Soetoro aka Obama. Wonder if privately she has buyer’s remorse?

Without question Barry is now aware of her ruling; being the narcissist he is, I’m betting Barry is mighty upset. One would think after more than five years of looking over his shoulder it would get to him, but not Barry. He’s Mr. Cool. No one can touch him because his skin is black.

Well, seeing is believing so why don’t they expose everything. Next March? Flood the Internet, radio and get this all over the country at every public event the dogs in Congress attend while they’re home for a few weeks for Christmas.

Matter of fact, the judge in the communist enclave of Maryland has given Taitz 21 days to file a second amended complaint.  Conservative Angle commented

The fact that a judge actually is forcing the federal government to respond is a first. Usually, the efforts to bring the actions of Obama and his enablers to light have been stymied by judges who appear to have been unduly influenced. The ruling of this judge now puts the Social Security Administration employees in the uncomfortable position of having to produce documents or face personal consequences.

The question is will it, or will there be something suspicious like say another false flag to keep Obama/Soetoro as dictator so he can impose Martial Law on this nation in the name of the new World Order.

NSA actions UNCONSTITUTIONAL

BREAKING:

ABC News is reporting a panel of so-called experts on surveillance, many of whom work for President Obama/Soetoro is asking him to STOP the spy program.

“We think there’s no real need for the government to store data about people’s telephone calls,” said Richard Clarke, a member of the panel and an ABC News consultant.

That is one of 46 ideas in a 300-page report presented to the President today by the five members of the President’s Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies.  The report also called for a major review of the NSA’s spy program done on the heads of foreign allies, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The statists in the government media and military industrial complexes do not like what District Court Judge Richard Leon decided this week saying the NSA spy program is an unconstitutional fourth amendment violation.

Fox News’ Senior Judicial Analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano told Fox and Friends this week about the ruling telling co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck judges on the FISA court have overstepped in granting permission to the NSA to collect these vast amounts of data. Napolitano also called Judge Leon’s opinion scathing, saying he chastised the NSA for misleading him and his fellow judges.
